Coaching for High Performance is designed to help managers and leaders build effective coaching skills and a coaching-led leadership style in order to drive high performance within their teams.

You will refine capabilities through impactful goal setting, connecting to understand with active listening, adopt the GROW model to structure conversations, and learn which powerful questions to ask to prompt action and accountability. Each workshop covers a different skill that builds through practical application and makes up the Coaching for High Performance model.

Tom Glason - Coaching for High Performance

Tom Glason, Instructor

Tom Glason has spent over 20 years in B2B tech, a decade of which has been in senior revenue leadership roles within VC-backed SaaS scale-ups. His passion for developing himself and other revenue leaders led to him founding the London chapter of Pavilion in 2018, which became the second chapter after New York.

In 2020 he co-founded Scalewise, which exists to give B2B tech scale-ups unique and flexible access to world-class revenue leaders to help accelerate growth. And that could be anything from a few hours a month of Scale Coaching from an experienced revenue operator, through to providing a fractional or interim leader such as a world-class CMO, CRO or VP Sales for a few days a week. Tom is also the founder and chair of Pavilion London.

This course is for any member who is looking to improve their coaching skills or adopt a coaching-led leadership style in order to drive high performance within their team. 

Session 1:
Goal Setting

 

By the end of this class, you will be able to:

  • Identify how and when to set goals
  • Avoid goal-setting pitfalls and implications
  • Decide which goal-setting framework you find the most helpful

Session 2:
GROW - Theory

 

By the end of this class, you will be able to:

  • Effectively use the GROW model for structured conversations
  • Use GROW to set goals, understand current situation and challenges, identify solutions and agree ways forward, and have impactful conversations
  • Use powerful questioning techniques when working with others
  • Apply the GROW model for impactful conversations

Session 3:
Active Listening

 

By the end of this class, you will be able to:

  • Feel the difference between active and passive listening
  • Identify where you are on the ‘levels of communication’ scale
  • Increase levels of communication with tools and techniques

Session 4:
GROW - Practical

 

By the end of this class, you will be able to:

  • Improve GROW model usage with peer feedback
  • Continually improve active listening skills outside of the classroom

Expected Results

By the end of this school, you will have the knowledge and skills to be able to:

  • Set goals effectively avoiding pitfalls and implications
  • Increase levels of communication with active listening tools and techniques
  • Effectively use the GROW model for structured conversations
